| NNMT

In enzymology, a nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction.The two substrates of this enzyme are S-adenosyl methionine and nicotinamide, whereas its two products are S-adenosylhomocysteine and 1-methylnicotinamide. This enzyme belongs to the family of transferases, specifically those transferring one-carbon group methyltransferases. This enzyme participates in nicotinate and nicotinamide metabolism.NNMT affects a biochemical mechanism known as a futile cycle, which plays a role in metabolic regulation. NNMT is found in human fat cells and the liver. NNMT processes vitamin B3 and has been linked with certain types of cancer.

| Linearity
